Welcome to the American Airpower Museum, where your students' history and social studies lessons fly in a living class room. |
Today, there is no other place in the nation
where students can walk in the hangars and control towers where World War
II aircrafts were readied for war, and then watch these "war birds" taxi to the
same runways and take to the air while learning the timeless story of our
nation's courage, valor and sacrifice in World War II.
| Against this authentic backdrop of a working hangar from
1943, the museum
seeks to create an interdisciplinary approach to making our American history
come alive. From living historians in authentic period uniforms to veterans who
served and fought in these aircrafts, students are provided with a powerful
connection to their classroom curriculum.
We welcome students, educators and parents
to become a part of the unique American Airpower Museum
experience - and a unique understanding of our country's air history.
