Join us this Memorial Day Weekend where history flies at the American Airpower Museum’s first Warbird Weekend of 2023! This weekend the museums collection of legendary Warbirds will perform in the 2023 Annual Bethpage Federal Credit Union Jones Beach Air Show! This year we are excited to honor our veterans past and present when our World War II North American P-51D Mustang, Grumman TBM-3E Avenger, Douglas C-47B Skytrain, and North American AT-6s will fly a fly past and review for the great crowds on at Jones Beach State Park May 26th, 27th, and 28th. Our Air Show Performance at Jones beach will conclude with an aerobatic demonstration of the the P-51D! In addition to our daily air show launch and recovery our warbirds will fly for our visitors to watch at the American Airpower Museum at Republic Airport throughout the day- weather, and air traffic permitting. Air Show flight operations begin early Friday – Sunday at approximately 10:30am to 11:00am.
You can also see our flight line display including the visiting United States Navy EA-18G Growler Electronic Attack Aircraft, our North American B-25 Mitchell “Miss Hap”, the visiting Curtiss P-40N “American Dream”, and our collection of static historic Air Force and Navy Aircraft including the venerable hometown hero – the Republic A-10A Thunderbolt II built 43 years ago on the grounds we operate out of today! This is a family friendly event with activities and tours for kids of all ages, as well as our WWII C-45 open cockpits, and our unique flight simulator available to test your pilot skills for a small donation to the museum’s operational fund.
