Photo, Film, & TV Work
The American Airpower Museum, located at Republic airport, has been an in-demand location for film, television, and photo work since we opened over 20 years ago. The museum also has provided historic aircraft, vehicles, and props from our collection for major film and television productions, as well as photo shoots. Our historic vintage hangar is a unique shooting location on the airport that provides both backdrop, and staging locations for productions on the Republic Airport grounds. Our aircraft also provided unique aerial camera platforms for air-to-air film and photography. Our pilot’s and volunteers have become consummate professionals in support of the film and television industry and have also provided technical advising services for both aviation, and military film and television projects. Republic airport is conveniently located close to the New York City Silver Cup, and Steiner studios, as well as Grumman Studios in Bethapage, LI.
Productions that have utilized the American Airpower Museum as a location include: ABC’s Pan Am(2011-2012), NBC’s The Blacklist(2013-2023), and Law & Order: SVU and Organized Crime. CBS’s Madame Secretary(2014-2019), Bull (2016-2022), FBI (2018-Present), and FBI: Most Wanted (2020-Present).
As Featured in the photos above Amazon’s The Marvelous Mrs.Maisel converted our vintage Hangar into a 1950’s US Air Force Base Hangar USO Show.
